Introduction to Coffee is an amazing training program for all the coffee lovers out there! It has been designed to provide you with a more comprehensive overview of the key concepts of coffee knowledge.
This course teaches coffee fundamentals from origin to cup, now updated with the logic from the SCA Coffee Value Assessment. Key learnings include:
In particular, the course will cover:
- Coffee origins and growing regions- Learn coffee's journey from farm to cup
- Understanding the current coffee industry - specialty and commercial coffee
- Differences in coffee species and varieties
- Harvesting & processing
- Basics of roasting process
- Sensory skills - recognition and flavor perception
- Understand coffee flavors and freshness
- Brewing Basics - Master basic coffee brewing fundamentals
- Importance of water
In addition to the above, this course includes a “coffee cupping”. A sensory experience which allows you to recognize the sensory attributes of coffee.
No worries if you have no previous experience as a barista. Introduction to coffee is ideal for anyone who is new or looking to get into the coffee industry!
Last but not least, seminar includes written exams. Therefore, if you succeed, you will receive the SCA Certification of the Specialty Coffee Association.
Moreover, you will receive a Create notebook and a pencil to keep notes during the program!

You can either book the course online by following the steps on the form. Otherwise, you can pay via bank transfer or cash by contacting us at info@createathens.gr
For cash payments we require a 50% deposit to secure your booking.
After completing your reservation and before the course date, you will need to pay 25€ Course Enrollment Fee directly to the SCA Portal.
You will not be able to take the written exam until the Course Enrollment Fee is paid.
A paid Course Enrollment Fee will be transferable to another course if the learner is unable to attend the original course.
The seminar will be held in Greek.
