Brewing Intermediate (SCA)

The SCA Brewing Intermediate course is ideal for you who have brewing experience and want to explore how to improve coffee quality. During this course you will cover a wide range of topics. Firstly, you will learn about the brewing process in terms of device, extraction order and wetting. Secondly, you will explore the essential elements of brewing and their individual influence on the final cup. Also, you will discover the scientific method of measuring and charting coffee strength and extraction. Moreover, you will analyze the brewed coffee and the adjustments to consider in order to deliver a delicious, well balanced cup. Last but not least, you will consider how important it is the clean and maintain the equipment.

SCA Brewing Intermediate includes practical and written exams. If you succeed in both, you will receive the SCA Certification of the Specialty Coffee Association. This course has no prerequisites, however, we recommend you to attend and successfully pass the Introduction to Coffee and Brewing Foundation level.

For cash payments a 50% deposit is required to secure your booking.

After completing your reservation and before the course date, you will be asked to pay 50€ Course Enrollment Fee directly to the SCA Portal.

Learners must pay for the Course Enrollment Fee, before they can take the written exam.

A paid Course Enrollment Fee will be transferable to another course if the learner is unable to attend the original course.
