Barista Skills Intermediate

A two-day course introducing extraction theory, professional tasting and brew recipes. You will also improve your workflow and milk steaming with a dedicated latte art component.

The intermediate level of the barista skills module is designed to test key core and more advanced skills and understanding, expected from a competent barista. Successful candidates should be able to dial in a brew recipe, make a full range of drinks with quality and speed, as well as understand the basics of customer service and maintenance.

Learn about blends and their components, body and flavor from different varieties, processes and origins, the effect of ageing on coffee, workflow, workplace design and working in pairs, how grinding, distributing and tamping impacts taste and efficiency extraction and brewing (strength vs yield), hygiene, health & safety at the workplace customer service cleaning, maintenance and troubleshooting and coffee shop management.
